Get involved

Road transport is the bedrock of international supply chains and moves the majority of global domestic and international inland freight-tonnes.

HOW CAN ENTERPRISES BE INVOLVED?

Enterprises seeking to begin participation in RTDD must follow the process outlined below:

1
Understanding the standards

the RTDD Foundation and enterprise jointly analyse and review the latter’s policies and codes of conduct to ensure they meet the RTDD minimum standards.

2
Cooperation agreement

The enterprise agrees to the RTDD Foundation conducting specified monitoring process in their supply chain. Enterprises provide the agreed information and resources required for the Foundation to carry out the scaled-up monitoring process.

3
Reporting

RTDD Foundation confidentially reports findings to the enterprise, identifies any violations and/or systemic issues, and jointly develops any remedies that may be needed with the enterprise.

How can trade unions be involved?

The Foundation provides training to trade unions to help develop networks of drivers that can share information with the Foundation’s monitors. This includes training on:

  • Desk and field investigation methods and tools
  • Industry and supply chain approaches, trends and insights
  • Operational-level grievance and workplace dispute mechanisms and other approaches to resolving and remedying drivers’ issues
